I know it’s not for everybody, but I do some regular detox when I feel that my body needs a reset (from too much gluten and sugar) and I’m here to share my experience (because it works and the feeling afterward is amazing!).
First of all, what is a detox? 💡
Cleanse, or detox is an healthy method to rest the body’s system. By elimination some specific foods, you allow your body to heal itself and support your health.

The program I use eliminate caffeine, alcohol, meat, diary products, sugar (chocolate specifically for me) oil, additives and processed foods.
By removing these ingredients, the digestive system works better as it usually demand your body a lot of energy.
It focus on nutrient dense, plant based whole foods for 5 days.

The scheme of the detox consist of 2 smoothies a day and a big buddha bowl for lunch. You can have healthy snacks in between! 🍌🍎
An Apple with 2 tbs peanut butter
3 dates with 2 tbs peanut butter (my favourite)
Roasted Chickpeas (paprika and turmeric topping)
Homemade humous (without oil) and veggies
Peanut butter/almond butter and banana bites
How to Make your smoothie 🍹
Step 1: Choose your liquid
Water (still not sparkling)
Plant-based milk 🥛
Coconut water 🥥
Step 2: Choose your fruits and veggies
Seasonal veggies and fruits are the best as they are fresh and nutritish.
I usually put 2 different fruits (1 banana /125g strawberries or 1 banana/2 small pears or 1 apple/ 2 kiwis) and a hand of fresh spinach/ kale/ cucumber/ avocado

[feedback] My own experience
I have done it 4 times so far, after holidays (following Christmas and New year Eve was probably the most needed one!). The side effects of the detox are mainly headaches, but you can prevent it by drinking a lot of water and herbal teas, feeling tired (the first 2days and then the energy kicks in!). These symptoms are signs that your body is working and realising toxins.
The feeling after this detox plan is incredible, losing weight, feeling energise, not bloated anymore and ready to kick start your day like never before!
[Tips] after the detox, try to keep the plant-based diet and cut out processed food as much as possible. This detox can help you build healthy eating habits.
